about

The New Folklore is an impressive foray into the art of storytelling in song. Inspired by the soul and spirit of Nicholas David on piano and vocals, the band swings with sharp intent or loose fun as Teague shifts the narrative from philosophical to outrageous. The New Folklore received four nominations at the 2009 Just Plain Folks Awards in Nashville with "A Good Clean High (off a dirt cheap bottle of wine)" taking home a Best Song Award. The book version titled The New Folklore: Lyrical Tales for Dreamers & Thinkers was published by North Star Press in October 2015. The book version includes Old Lady Truth, Three Little Fish and Teufelo's Tongue from the original album alongside four additional folktales. The new audio versions of "The Wisdom of King Joe Colli" and "How Lefty Stepanovich Turned Water into Wine" are included here as bonus tracks.
